If you think changing jobs is a problem, try changing all your passwords and email addresses. I realize that there is a list of reasons we should protect our identity, but when we can’t remember what we said about ourselves, we are in big trouble. I tried to change my email on an account I had for several years. My pictures are out in cyberspace and cannot be picked up by the host and this is after I had spent more than 40 minutes trying to login and checking my 5 pages of email passwords. Yes, I did say 5 pages. Oh and of course I needed to save them to my thumb, but sometimes I forgot and then as I painstakingly went through them side-by-side, making them the same and noting the changes made to each account.
Since every account or website has a different requirement. It can be very frustrating to be locked out of the page you created and no way to let them know you have a new email address. They verify everything to your old email and send password changes to that email address which no longer exists. Is anyone seeing a problem here?
For this reason, I’m thrilled that God never changes His password. We can always have direct access to him in all things. His simple requirement is to know him personally through his son Jesus Christ. Having that single password of entry to him allows us to never have to deal with a changed password. He knows where we are and what our very intentions are as we finagle our way around the cyber-world. His invitation is simple, come to me all who are weary… (Matt 6:28). I was really weary after struggling to update and align my accounts and passwords. I have quite a ways to go to make some of them valid, but in the frustration, I remember that I have easy access to the Creator of the universe. He knows my name and my account info and eh never changes even when I do.
That’s all that is important. Yes, I’ll continue making attempts to update all old accounts with my new email address, but I will not fret or become weary as I do this. I have great peace from the One who has promised me rest. Today, in the heat of the summer and the frustration of life, I hope you know the One who offers rest from all weariness. Enjoy His presence even in the heat.
